Grade 7 Art focuses on skill sets and building a confident foundation in drawing. There is a lot of work work observational drawing, practice with contours and value study. There is representational work as well as abstract work created. This year prepares the young artists for their innovative and rigorous 8th grade year.
Contour drawing of different shaped insects. I just love how this student refused to be daunted by the edge of her paper. She ran out of room, solved the issue and continued a nicely observed drawing. Now that’s using the right side of your brain!!
